ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY FOR CORONADO ATHLETICS
If you are an athlete, check your course requests carefully to be sure that you are taking enough courses
to meet the academic requirements for eligibility. The requirements are as follows:
• Every athlete must be enrolled in 5 or more credits for both first and second semester.
• Every athlete must have been enrolled in 5 or more credits during the previous semester.
• The athlete must not be failing more than one course during the grading period of participation.
Student athletes who plan to compete in a Division I or II School as a college freshman need to register with and be certified as eligible by the NCAA in the spring of their junior year.
Please be aware that eligibility for NCAA is not necessarily the same as the eligibility for college/university admission. Prospective student-athletes can access information on registration applications, academic eligibility, core classes, fee waivers, test score requirements, or student release forms at www.ncaaclearinghouse.net
A component of NCAA eligibility is a college entrance exam (ACT or SAT). NCAA recognizes the Colorado state mandated ACT test given at Coronado in the spring of the junior year. Athletes need to work with their counselors, coaches, and athletic director to make sure that the classes that they are taking meet eligibility standards for NCAA.
